LUIS ALEJANDRO MANUEL
Mexican immigrant died of Covid-19 in the U.S.A.
Luis was Catalina's eldest son. He went to New York so long ago that his family does not remember what year it happened, "he was 14 or 15 years old," says his mother uncertainly. Since then he has managed to build a level of his house, but his remittances did not reach for the furniture. He was born in Ixcuinatoyac in 1984, a small town founded on incomplete houses in the Mixteca mountains of Guerrero. Like so many Mexicans, he went to the United States due to the lack of job opportunities in his land. On September 15 he was delivered in a box to Catalina, on the 16th, the day of Mexico's independence celebration, he was buried in a tomb made by his brothers.
Ixcuinatoyac, Guerrero, Mexico, 2020.
